#DrivenWomen ‘on the road’ competition for 16-25 year olds

At Volkswagen Group UK we are looking at ways of attracting more women into our business. We are offering the chance for you to win a Volkswagen up! for a year* if you have the best ideas for how we should promote careers for women within our business. Your competition entry will be a presentation of your ideas on how we should achieve this.

To enter the competition you need to

Design a campaign to attract women to work at Volkswagen Group

Your entry should include:

  • An analysis of the barriers to considering a career in automotive
  • What messages you would utilise to overcome these barriers
  • What channels you would implement the campaign across and how you would bring it to life (e.g. social media, video, careers websites, posters, local press etc.)
  • The way in which you present your entry should be able to be uploaded, but whether this is in PowerPoint, PDF or any other format you would like to use is up to you. If you have additional ideas to those listed above please include them in your entry.
  • It should be no more than 5,000 words, or take no longer than 30 minutes if being presented.

Terms and conditions:

  1. The competition is open to all United Kingdom residents aged 16-25 year olds. Only one entry per person.
  2. Entries must be submitted via the online application form by 31 December 2016 www.vwgcareers.co.uk/drivenwomen
  3. Competition not open to employees of Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited, their agents or contractors, Volkswagen Group brand retailers and anyone else connected with the promotion.
  4. All competition entries will be reviewed by a panel of Volkswagen Group UK judges and up to 10 will be shortlisted to come and present their project. There will then be one winner chosen for the overall prize. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by January 2017.
  5. The prize for those who have a full clean driving license is use of a Volkswagen up! (exact specification will be confirmed at time of winner being contacted) for 1 year from the collection date of the car. The tax and insurance of the car will be provided for the year. There will be a contract to sign on collection of the vehicle that will set out the return standards of the vehicle, if these are breached the winner will be liable for the costs of returning the vehicle to a state of repair that Volkswagen Group UK finds acceptable. For those under the age of 17 we will provide ‘Young Driver’ driving lesson voucher of 6 x 1 hour lessons at a regional location of our choosing.
  6. Winning entrant will be required to produce valid Driving licence on request by the Promoter.
  7. The Promoter’s decision is final.
  8. Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions and/or that are delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, illegible or otherwise defective will be disqualified.

  10. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  11. There is no cash alternative.
  12. The Promoter reserves its right to substitute any prize with a prize of equivalent value in the event of circumstances outside of its control.
  13. The Promoter reserves its right (but is not obliged) to substitute any Prize for a prize of equivalent or greater value in the event of circumstances that make this necessary.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend, foreclose or withdraw the promotion and/or the terms and conditions of entry at any time and without prior notice.
  15. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant[s] it believes not to be participating within the spirit of the promotion or suspects of participating in any unfair or unjust behaviour. The Promoter reserves the right to use its discretion in all respects and to enforce any penalty or sanction it deems appropriate.
  16. The winner may be required to take part in non-paid publicity or advertising relating to the competition, which may include having their photograph taken for promotional or press purposes.
  17. The Promoter reserves the right to feature the name, photograph and location of the prize winner and their guests (if applicable) in any future marketing materials, website publications, promotions and/or prize draws.
  18. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed or rendered invalid due to incorrect participant data, lack of network coverage, system, software or hardware failure or for any other reason beyond its control.
  19. Entrants will also need to provide a valid email address and/or contact telephone number (these details shall only be used to contact the winners and such information shall be destroyed by the Promoter after a reasonable period).
  20. Your personal data will be held by Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited. If at any time you wish to withdraw from the prize draw your request should be made in writing to the Promoter.
  21. If there is a conflict in the terms conditions to this prize draw with any other terms whatsoever attached to any other advertising material in respect of this draw, these conditions will apply.

  23. Entrants have a right to request a copy of information which Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited holds about them. To do so, please write to the Legal Department, Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited, Yeomans Drive, Blakelands, Milton Keynes, MK14 5AN. You will need to complete and send a fully completed Data Protection Subject Access Request, enclose the relevant ID and a cheque in the sum of £10 made payable to “Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited”.
  24. The competition and these terms and conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are subject to English law and any disputes or claims must be referred to the English courts.
