The emerging talent programme (ETP) is how Volkswagen Group UK spots talent and develops potential in its employees that can make a real difference to the future growth and vitality of the company.
Audi People Development Manager, Laura Sutherland has been on the programme, taking part in a structured development scheme that consisted of workshops, training modules, learning sets, networking opportunities, receiving continuous feedback and commercial business projects that are presented to senior management. Participants are also assigned a mentor who gives additional support throughout the programme.
Laura says: It felt like such an achievement to be on the ETP programme, because the business is recognising your ability, passion and commitment by investing in you.
You go through the programme as a part of a cohort which allows you to build strong relationships within the group, which is a great support whilst going on that learning journey and securing new roles.
I really enjoyed being on the programme and I have learned so much about myself and others, and discovered new ways of working. The ETP accelerates your learning and presents you with opportunities that you may not get otherwise. I believe the programme opened doors for me and enabled me to secure my recent promotion into the People Development Manager role – the career opportunities are endless.
The programme supports with creating a structured career plan and a personal toolkit which you can draw upon at any time in both your professional and personal life.”
Laura has been with Volkswagen Group since 2010, starting her career here in the Human Resources team where she fulfilled roles such as an HR Services Co-ordinator and HR Advisor supporting all areas of the business.
